Ready for Work
Launched at NBAA-BACE and reported by AIN on October 21. Online learning modules for the roughly two years between a technician earning an A&P certificate and starting initial type training, supporting on-the-job training rather than replacing it. A supervisor can track each new hire's progress through online milestone assessments. CAE has 10 courses available and another 30 coming over the next six to eight months. CAE says shops have moved from about nine experienced technicians per new hire to more like seven new technicians for three experienced ones. This is not an AI tool.
Why it can make you money
Every hour a veteran spends teaching basics is an hour not billed. Structured basics let new hires start billing sooner, and CAE argues that investing in them early also helps retention. Price it against what your senior technicians' coaching time costs you today.
