Safran.AI Singapore AI Centre of Excellence for digital inspection
Safran.AI, the Safran subsidiary that builds AI for imagery and industrial digital inspection, announced on October 29 that it will open its first international subsidiary in Singapore after Safran signed a memorandum of understanding with the Singapore Economic Development Board. The Centre of Excellence will first focus on automating digital inspection to support Singapore's MRO 4.0 ambitions for Safran, its partners and customers, and it will serve Safran.AI customers across Southeast Asia. Hiring starts in the first quarter of 2027, with roles including data scientists and AI engineers, and the unit is expected to grow to around 50 people over five years. Safran already employs about 900 people across five sites in Singapore.
Why it can make you money
The people who make AI inspection work in a hangar are a new kind of hire, and big players are now setting up dedicated teams to win them. If you run an MRO, expect competition for data scientists who understand maintenance, and consider growing that skill from inside: a technician who knows what a real defect looks like is the best person to check what an inspection model flags.
